Amrita Chaudhury

BME 451/452

Amrita believes that creativity and innovation play a vital role in the engineering world and give a competitive edge to students. For this reason, she encourages students in her senior capstone design course, BME 451/452, to combine critical thinking skills with imagination and resourcefulness. Amrita has developed three workshops (CAD software, FEA software, and FDA and risk management), as well as presenting information on FDA regulations to ME students who are designing biomedical parts. Most importantly, her dedication and competence show in the way she helps students with their problems – both the assigned work and the emotional roller coasters that the course may bring about. Amrita was such an effective teacher that she was asked to be a GSI again – which she gladly accepted.
