New engineering graduate student instructors (GSIs) are REQUIRED to attend a teaching orientation.
Orientation includes interactive sessions on teaching, a performance by the CRLT Players, and a practice teaching session.
New Engineering GSIs are also required to complete their ongoing professional development. For questions about requirements, please contact Krista Quinn (email@example.com). Any new GSI who does not complete the training and on-going professional development requirement will not be allowed to serve as a College of Engineering GSI in future terms.

If you are attending the Fall 2017 orientation, please note:
- breakfast is NOT served prior to the start of the orientation. However, for your convenience, Beanster’s in the Michigan League will be open from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Please plan accordingly.
- Lunch will be served at 12:00 pm. Please be sure to indicate any allergies or food restrictions when you register for the orientation.
- Parking during the orientation may be challenging due to the fall student move-in traffic and parking changes that will take place between August 30th and September 1st. If possible, we highly recommend walking, biking, or riding the bus. Read here for more information on fall move-in traffic and parking changes.
