Ongoing Professional Development

New Engineering GSIs and EECS IAs are required to participate in ongoing professional development (OPD).

To fulfill your OPD requirement, you must choose and complete one of the following activities. GSIs and EECS IAs must declare their ongoing professional development choice by Friday, January 5th, 2018.

1. Active Learning Practice

(Previously Advanced Practice Teaching). This session offers an opportunity to practice active learning techniques by presenting a lesson to a small peer group. In advance, you will review short online videos about active learning. Then, you will plan and deliver a 10-minute lesson using active learning. Finally, participants reflect on their experience and exchange supportive feedback. Practice teaching sessions will be in the Gorguze Family Laboratory (home of CRLT-Engin).
