Emily Herbert

ENGR 100

Emily helped design a new section of ENGR100 based on her expertise as a founding member of the BLUElab Living Building Challenge Team. In fact, she helped create the curriculum, and wrote labs, homework assignments, and exams – in addition to teaching the weekly lab sessions. During classes, she was the principal troubleshooter, assisting both students and professors. When students ran energy simulations on their net-zero energy building designs, Emily successfully diagnosed problems and helped project teams run a capstone simulation for their final project. In order to improve the course, Emily gathered comments and suggestions from students and spent several months reorganizing the curriculum as she prepared for the new semester.
