EECS 442: Introduction to Computer Vision

Sarah Jabbour’s passion for teaching and student mentorship was evident in her role as a GSI for Introduction to Computer Vision, where she not only managed an exceptionally large course but also took on leadership responsibilities beyond her role. She designed and delivered two lectures, including a guest lecture on Neural Networks and an advanced discussion on diffusion models, bringing cutting-edge AI topics into the undergraduate curriculum. Her structured approach to instruction, informed by feedback from CRLT classroom observations, made complex concepts more accessible to students. Sarah was also a pillar of student support, answering over 270 questions on Piazza, providing individualized mentorship for final projects, and advocating for students in difficult academic situations. Her impact extended beyond the course, guiding students toward graduate research opportunities and inspiring them to pursue careers in AI.
